Partnering with HKSTP to Cultivate a GBA-wide Hardware and Digital Technologies Ecosystem
Alongside their continuous efforts into innovation and digital transformation, ORIX Asia also hopes to give back to the community as part of their corporate values. Last year, ORIX Asia collaborated with Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP) to establish a co-incubation agreement involving a series of strategic programmes to nurture young technical professionals and support hardware and digital technology start-ups. The partnership combines high-tech, Industry 4.0 expertise and funding to propel talents and start-ups on their journey of growth.
As one of the partners in HKSTP’s Greater Bay Area (GBA) expansion programme, ORIX Asia will focus on new digital solution innovation, continue to nurture technical talents, shoulder the mission of facilitating the development of this emerging ecosystem as well as work with HKSTP to assist promising start-ups to expand into the global and Japan markets, leveraging their financial expertise.
 
Collaborating with Aerosim to Help Students Realize Their Flying Dreams
Hong Kong is positioned as an international innovation and technology centre as well as an international aviation transportation hub under the national "14th Five-Year Plan". Innovative thinking lays the foundation for cultivating innovation and technology talents. The STEM education model strongly advocated by the education sector in recent years is also helping to create a new environment for aviation education and foster talents for the aviation industry.
Aerosim, an aviation technology and innovation company based in the HKSTP, has been committed to exploring the wide application of aviation technologies as well as developing aviation training programmes and application support. This year, Aerosim is organizing the industry's first "all-round" aviation competition - "Hong Kong Inter-School Aviation Competition 2022".
 
Starting from the end of March, Aerosim will provide participants with a five-month comprehensive online aviation course along with topical studies and training, so that students can apply STEM theories with aviation know-how, which will help them pursue professions in the aviation industry and realize their flying dreams in the future. Adrian Pang, Managing Director of ORIX Asia, said as the financial partner of Aerosim, ORIX Asia is honoured to support the programme and provide 25 sponsorship places to participants in need, jointly encouraging the younger generation to pursue their aviation dreams.

The kick-off ceremony of the competition was held online on 8th March due to the pandemic. The winners of each stage will receive valuable aviation-related training, including a three-day start-up internship experience, piloting experience, aviation career workshop, Microsoft PC Flight Simulator 2020 (Digital Standard Edition), Aero Alliance Boeing Flight Jacket and others, with a total value of more than HK$100,000. The final winner will also fly to Australia for a 10-hour aviation training course and gain a precious flying experience.
